Through the realism of theater and the physicality of dance, Daniel Burkholder/The PlayGround explores the impact of real or perceived borders through two historical stories with Danceworks DanceLAB and the UWM Dance Department. In The Chemistry of Lime Trees, the performers combine athletic movement, live singing, text and provocative images to create a work both lush and stark, straightforward and layered, and concrete and abstract. Daniel Burkholder is completing his MFA degree in dance at UWM; this concert serves as his Thesis. Tickets are $10-20. Danceworks 50+ Yoga is geared to students age 50 and older. The free class, held outdoors on the Square at Bayshore, offers all the benefits of a Hatha or physical yoga. Students will engage in a specific series of postures that will be used to enhance anatomical integrity.
