The three Magrath sisters of Hazelhurst, Mississippi are offbeat, to say the least. While the lovelorn Lenny attempts to celebrate her thirtieth birthday in peace, the wayward Meg returns home from a failed singing career after the seemingly innocent Babe is arrested for shooting her husband in the belly. Employing characters and dialogue that are true, touching and consistently hilarious, Henley has a remarkable talent for serving pain as if it were a piece of cake. Directed by Mary MacDonald Kerr. Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize.

Danceworks’ resident tap ensemble, Danceworks on Tap (DOT) presents TAPtivating, celebrating the African and Irish roots of American tap dance. DOT will blend traditional and contemporary tap dance and collaborate with special guest artists from Rince Nia Academy of Irish Dance & Culture to create an energizing display of rhythmic expression! Rince Nia is directed by former lead of Riverdance, Ireland’s own Sean Beglan, and former Riverdance performer Jillian Winke Beglan, both world medalists.
