The Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corp, join the RSO for an enthralling range of music from light strings to the pulsing beat of the Kilties drum line. The orchestra opens with the “Star Spangled
Banner” and a Kilties bugle solo. Suppé “Light Cavalry Overture” and Mendelssohn’s” Scottish Symphony” add to the mix along with Custer’s “Salute to the Big Bands”. We will then add Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” and finish up the evening with Sousa “Stars and Stripes Forever”. Honoring our Armed Forces Troops and Veterans. Any active duty or reserve member of the Armed Forces wearing their uniform will be admitted to the concert free.
By Beth Henley;
The three Magrath sisters of Hazelhurst, Mississippi are offbeat, to say the least. While the lovelorn Lenny attempts to celebrate her thirtieth birthday in peace, the wayward Meg returns home from a failed singing career after the seemingly innocent Babe is arrested for shooting her husband in the belly. Employing characters and dialogue that are true, touching and consistently hilarious, Henley has a remarkable talent for serving pain as if it were a piece of cake. Directed by Mary MacDonald Kerr. Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize.
